The ‘Salon du Voyage et des Loisirs’ was launched on the 13th September at the J & J Auditorium, Phoenix, by the President of the Republic, Mr. Kailash Purryag. The event was organized by le Voyageur Travel & Tours in partnership with the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA). The objective of the exhibition is to make Mauritians discover the variety of tourism products available on the island.

During the ceremonial part, Mr. Kailash Purryag congratulated the organizers for this initiative and invited Mauritians to come and take the advantage of promotional offers.

The Hon. Michael Sik Yuen, Minister of Tourism and Leisure said that the tourism industry needs to improve the quality of its products, before adding that Mauritians themselves are the best ambassadors of the island, due to their hospitality. "Mauritians are the real carrier of our values and culture, and we must thank the Mauritians because they are the one who make our country shines on the international level.”

The exhibition includes tourism professionals and professionals of leisure activities. Several major hotel groups and leisure providers will offer for this occasion, discount up to 50%.

The ‘Salon du Voyage et des Loisirs’ will last till 16th September 2012.
