The award ceremony of the photo contest "Mauritius by People" was held on Saturday 10th August 2012 at the Henessy Park Hotel where the first three winners were awarded their respective prizes.

The MTPA had sponsored the competition and the aim was to see the island through the eyes of its inhabitants. It was also a good opportunity for amateurs to showcase their hidden talent. The contest started since one month on the official Facebook page of Le Voyageur Travel and Tours.

According to Mr. Moshin Moossa, the contest gained a great success beyond expectations. “Since we got more than one thousand pictures, we had difficulty to choose the best one as all of them were beautiful. The participants had shown great sense of creativity through their pictures which reflects the beauty of our country. I must also underline that we have been greatly impressed by the excellent quality of the different pictures we had received,” added the latter.

Mr. Dario, with a picture tagged: “L’automne mauricien en famille” had won the star prize, that is, five nights stay on a half board basis for two offered by the Lux* hotel. The second prize was awarded to Mr. Vincent Hokam with his beautiful capture: “Regate de Mahebourg”. He won four nights stay on a half board basis for two persons at Le Palmerie hotel. And the third winner, Mr. Bryen Moonean won three nights stay at Attitude resort on a half board basis for his capture of “entre terre et mer”.
