The Czech supermodel, Simona Krainova, is in Mauritius from 2nd to the 10th of June 2012 to further increase the visibility of the destination around the world, but also in the emerging Eastern European markets.
During her stay in Mauritius, the model will have the opportunity to visit several tourist sites such as the Casela, the Central Market of Port Louis, and the Pamplemousses Gardens, as well as enjoy several activities such as a boat trip to Ile aux Cerfs.
On Wednesday 6th of June, the young woman was received at the headquarters of the MTPA by its Deputy Director, Mr. Vijaye Haulder. At this meeting, Simona Krainova highlighted that despite her many visits around the world, Mauritius remained one of her favorite destinations because of its natural beauty and of the friendliness of the locals.
A meeting with the Minister of Tourism and Leisure, the Honorable Michael Sik Yuen, was also organised.
Simona Krainova was born in 1973 in Havirov, Czechoslovakia. She was first spotted in Prague when she was only 16 years, and has subsequently worked with fashion icons including Yves Saint Laurent, MAX MARA and ELLE, among others.
The name of Simona Krainova can now be added to the non-exhaustive list of remarkable ambassadors Mauritius has. Having several strings to her bow, this celebrity is evolving in several spheres such as the cinema, reality shows and TV programs like H'adá supermodelka, a show dedicated to the search of future supermodels.
This visit forms part of the project to diversify our current tourism markets. With an increase of 78.7% in tourist arrivals in April this year as compared to April last year, Eastern European countries are turning into important markets for Mauritius.
This initiative comes to the MTPA, which has also received support from LUX Morne, Long Beach and Shanti Hotel, Mauritius.
