Mauritius is seen as one of the best golf destinations in Switzerland. The destination was present at the Pro-Am tournament in Zurich and was classified 2nd best island golf destination by the Sunday paper “Sonntagszeitung”.

The MTPA, Constance Hotels and Stohler Tours sponsored the Mauritius prize, namely “Prix d’Honneur Mauritius” at the Zürich Golf Open 2010 on the 14th and 15th of June. As sponsors they received a 4-pages coverage in the event’s magazine which will be distributed  to all Swiss Golf Clubs. The event in itself was sponsored by Credit Suisse and Zürich and supported by numerous national and international companies like Davidoff, Canon, and American Airlines.

And in his weekly golf column of the Sunday paper “Sonntagszeitung” of the 6 June (circulation: 194’764, 797’000), Kurt W. Zimmermann placed Mauritius as 2nd best Golf destination. In his paper, he highlighted why golfers like to spend their holidays on Islands.

He then stated three of the best golf islands as follows:

1.    Bermudas.
2.    Mauritius
3.    Mallorca
